Venice

The community of Venice was designed to honor its Italian city namesake.

Welcome To Venice

Venice is a lively, hip, and artistic town known for its laid-back California beach vibe

Designed in 1905 by millionaire Abbot Kinney, the community of Venice was designed to honor its Italian city namesake. As Venice evolved, this eclectic city became home to a bustling boardwalk and a vibrant downtown with unique specialty stores, funky restaurants, and colorfully-painted murals. The area’s fascinating history is found throughout the community, from Abbot Kinney Boulevard’s art galleries and Muscle Beach’s gym to picturesque canals and affluent residential neighborhoods. Miles of coastline provide a relaxed and easygoing atmosphere to Venice’s bohemian vibe, making this oceanside city a sought-after area for artists and families.

Venice is absolutely vivacious. This unique town has a hip and quirky culture all on its own and is an excellent destination for innovative cuisine, modern art galleries, and unique entertainment options. Restaurants range from top-shelf restaurants to unapologetic—and equally delicious—food trucks. The shopping in Venice is fabulous and stretches from high-end, top-fashion shops to one-of-a-kind shops selling vintage trinkets. Venice Pier sits on a stunning stretch of beautiful coastline, and local surfers, sun-bathers, volleyball players, and swimmers flock to its nearby beaches for relaxing days filled with sand, sea, and sun.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Venice is home to a multitude of wonderful restaurants. One such scrumptious establishment is
Felix Trattoria. This lovely establishment brings the best of Italian cooking and enhances it with local California ingredients. Another favorite is Gjusta. This longtime bakery serves up a variety of exquisite food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but its delicious desserts are what continue to bring a steady stream of guests all day long. The Rose, an iconic restaurant that has been a part of the Venice community for over 30 years, serves local Southern Californian cuisine. Traditional Italian dishes are made from scratch and offered to patrons at Ospi Venice.

Things to Do

Venice is full of fun and quirky things to see and do. Of course, no visit to Venice is complete without a trip to
Abbot Kinney Boulevard. This mile-long road is filled with fun and wondrous shops, restaurants, and galleries for people to peruse. The street is also home to First Friday, a popular event featuring wine, food, and artwork displayed for purchase on the First Friday of every month.

Visit the infamous Muscle Beach. This bodybuilding venue located on the beach has trained some of the world’s most renowned bodybuilders, including Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dave Draper.

Meander through the Venice Canals. These lovely man-made canals provide a perfect backdrop for a date night or a scenic stroll.
